It was an amazing experience to snorkel with the manta rays. It's a bit of a hike to get to this spot from the harbor and thankful that the boat ride was not too rough. There were other boats there when we arrived which meant quite a few people in the water. The reef where the manta rays swim is in about 3-4 metres of water, which means "duck diving" down to the coral reef is possible. Watching these beautiful creatures glide effortlessly by is a magnificent sight to behold. We spent just over half an hour with the rays, regrouped, and headed back, stopping at Gamet Bay on the return journey. The reef there is home to an incredible array of tropical fish species and such a delight to see. If you're on any of the islands and curious out snorkelling, it's a must do!

I organised my trip through the hotel with elite snorkelling based at the Nusa penida port, you can just turn up there and book/ pay on the day. It was an incredible time I saw 3 mantas right below me! Although the weather was not great it was very cloudy and the seas were rough! The journey there and back was not for the faint hearted lol but absolutely worth it! We visited 3 different areas and went to Manta point with 90% chance of seeing manta rays! The other two spots were also well worth it to see an amazing amount of different fish! They provide everything you need and staff make sure you are okay at all times! If you are going on a cloudy day and the waves are big make sure you ask for a life jacket if you are worried even if you are a confident swimmer the water can take you by surprise! We were lucky when we went that there was no one else in the water with our group! Maybe because of the bad weather not as many people joined and boats were not everywhere!

An amazing experience we get there 2 days and see manta each time, water is cold without suit, and quite some waves, need to be good swimmer. 10m deep, but could see manta really close. Way too much people at the point, we paid 350k for the trip, worth it. Point will be ruined in the future with all the people coming…

I'll never fall for these tourist traps again !! Around 80-100 people swimming chaotically above, with every tour scheduled at the exact same time. Boats (10-12 at a time) constantly coming and going, and divers everywhere-all of this scares the mantas away. Many of them are covered in fishing hooks, and no one seems to care. To make it worse, the ocean is littered with plastic, adding to the destruction. It's all about making money, with no regard for the environment or the well-being of the wildlife. Very sad and disappointing from my point of view, if you truly care and love the marine life please don’t support these trips and make sure to tell your friends to not fall in these traps cause they are not doing any good, it’s not even nice for people who never seen something like this before, it’s totally overrated and sad!

Amazing to see these giants up close. If you can scuba dive opt for this though, we just snorkelled and regretted not diving. The water is extremely rough if you’re not a very strong swimmer you need to ask for a life jacket as it can take people by surprise how rough it is and this is dangerous. You’re also packed in with hundreds of other snorkellers and this makes the swimming more challenging with flippers hitting you from everywhere. If diving, it would’ve been 5*
