Glagah Indah Beach

A vast and cool seaside tourist destination on the west side of Serang River. Near the ticket box is a riverside green area for fishing and camping. The wide river estuary offers safe shallow water playing area for children, simple food shops, and a family playground among pine trees. The east part of the lagoon offers a round cruise on a passenger motorboat (IDR 10,000.-), a seafood restaurant Yu Gun, a lively tourist market, indoor swimming pools for kids, and a clean beach with exotic wave breakers and food shops. The middle area of the lagoon offers camping, picnic, seafood restaurants, and a small lake with an exotic bamboo bridge. Restrooms and mushollas are available around the lagoon. Scattered vast parking yards for motorbikes, cars and buses. Lodging is available in the west part. From time to time a passenger jet aircraft passes by overhead to land at or take off from the nearby Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA).

I would only recommend visiting only very early in the morning or after 3/4 pm. The beach wasn't very clean and it gets scorching hot around 8 am and later. It gets so hot that I wouldn't recommend anyone walking barefooted on dry sand. But I avoided all of that by arriving there at 6 am, these are taken around 6:10.

Nice little town close to Yogyakarta, worth a visit. Take a walk on the beach or make a boat trip in the bay. Lots of warungs and sea food. A brand new airport is under construction close to this place (2018/2019).

It's a nice place to spent your free time. There are market, restaurant, swimming pool for kids, laguna, etc. So, you can do a lot of things like fishing, trying to catch some little crabs, riding the boat at laguna, shopping in the market (you can find various souvenir), or just walking and taking some picture. Oh, if you like plane, you can see them landing to the airport near the beach.

The right place to see sunset and quite big waves. Beautiful scenery. People can play in the water on the East side of the beach where the water is more shallow.
