Amazing, adventurous rewarding experience. This hike is wet, wild and challenging. You will get wet and muddy, but if you persevere you will be rewarded with several amazing waterfalls and a hidden pool. Trekking upstream between the steamy, vined cliffs with some occasional small climbs is unlike any hike I've done anywhere else in the world. While my 80 year old mother accomplished the hike, I would not recommend it for others unless they are fit and VERY confident in their balance. The man who discovered the waterfall, dug the steps and trail, and cleaned mountains of trash to reveal this spectacular spot is very passionate and inspiring. This is still a well kept secret. We only saw two other visitors. Highly recommended over the other waterfalls pushed on tours.

This was one of my highlights from Sidemen. The ride there is beautiful, the place is hidden in a smaller village with a beautiful view. I was lucky enough to meet the owner of this who introduced me to all the work that is being done with preserving the nature as a result of this place. The trekking was my highlight, not something for everyone, but if you like the adventure part of getting to a waterfall i highly recommend this. I even got to make some traditional balinese cakes in his kitchen! Thanks so much for the tour!

We were tired of the so many "over-touristed" places, and wanted to visit a calm, nature-connected area - so I found this place on Google maps. Let's give it a try, I said, and I didn't expect that this will be one of the pinnacle experiences on our Bali holiday. Grounded to Earth - this is what you are going to feel here. Visiting the waterfall in the deep creek, full of plants, walking in water, listening to the Nature...magnificent. There was not much water when we were there (end of October), but it was still amazing. There is no entrance fee, they accept donations. There are steep steps, rocks, mud, so needs a careful approach, but it is easily managable. On our way out, the owner, Dira welcomed us, and we could have a talk about his work here, and how he teaches kids to be more nature-focused and how to protect their enviroment. This is something unique here, in Indonesia! He is a very kind and warm-hearted person 🌞 If you want to experience something "real Bali", come and visit this place. Terimah kasi! 🙏✨

You’ll have an amazing and wild journey to the waterfall, that’s for sure. Take spare clothes with you, cause you might get dirty at the end. You’ll walk in between rocks , in the little river , using the stick provided by the host at the entrance . Also big thanks to the host for taking care of this place ! Without him and his efforts it would’nt be possible to access jt 💞

Forget the tourist trail waterfalls and please visit this beautiful location for a spiritual and educational experience. This is not seeing a powerful waterfall for 10 minutes and a couple of photos…(in fact, when we visited the waterfall was dry due to irrigation demands) this is an experience like no other in Bali. A story of discovery, environmental recovery, spiritual connection to nature and the creation of education. We were so lucky to meet the founder and discoverer of Aan Secret Waterfall, who took us on a guided tour for over 2 hours. Dira is a wonderful person, educator and award-winning ecologist…we learnt so much about how everyone can make a difference to their environment. A hand carved, stepped trail down to the river and a short but challenging climb through a gorge leads to the waterfall (water shoes recommended). Along the way, Dira may give you flowers to plant, stories of his journey of discovery and meditations on nature…if you are very lucky you may even meet his lovely wife for a coffee afterwards. We got lucky but I would recommend ringing / texting in advance (the number is on google) to ensure you get to meet Dira and hear his story. Inspirational experience if you love nature, peace and want to avoid the tourist spots. We will remember this forever. There is no fixed charge but donations are accepted to maintain the waterfall walkways, continue the environmental clean up and education in the local area. Magical 🙏
