We did a hiking last weekend. It took 3 hours climbing and 3 hours down so totally 6 hours for hiking /climbing. To go to this place, we should use car. Drive a car or motorbike along the side of the cliff. Be careful, there are often lots of landslides during the rainy season. Be careful when driving, the road is narrow and winding. Does not have a special parking lot, park near the village temple. It's best to bring cash to pay for the toilet and give the money to the begging grandmother. But It's worthed to do hiking / climbing. The view amazing

Absolutely worth it !Took a scooter ride around lake to Trunyan village and started hiking from there. Start is steep until crossroad where you can buy drinks and snacks. From there turn right, moderately difficult, but absolutely beautiful views on mount and lake Batur area and later nice views on other side. Took us about 2:15 up and 1h down, plus lots of stops for photos. Highly recommended trip for 4 hours total and some time to get there

In my opinion, Bukit Terunyan is a beginner-friendly hill for hiking. For beginners, the hike can take around 2 hours. At the summit of Terunyan, we are rewarded with an incredible natural view, where we can see the sunrise, Mount Agung, Gianyar, and also Mount Batur.

It is quite mini. However, the trek was arduous. I think mainly it was because of the bush and the mini pathway. I walked from the village, after getting up there there is noway but going back the same track. There is a road but it will take you somewhere or 1 hr 41 mins back to the starting point. The view was panoramic of lake and mt Batur, very pretty. I need to remind myself not to hike too much spontaneously in the afternoon, without no water. Nevertheless, it was worth it, or it seems, to reach the top.

I’m about to give you every over explained detail you could need about this hike. Buckle up Hi, i’m a solo traveler and i hate figuring things out on my own. After reading all the reviews i learned that nobody really helped with anything i needed to know about this hike so here i am to tell you everything! I stayed in kintamani at a hostel named Volcano Living. I highly recommend this hostel. There are private rooms along with a dorm and a cafe up top. Great food and good ppl. This is located at the bottom of the crater and right across from Trunyan Village. There is an entrance to the hike in this village and very accessible. I think there are two starts but this is the one i took. Transportation: I had a hard time finding transport as a traveler in this area. I searched high and low for taxi services and boat rides. I got quoted 800K for a boat ride from a Trunyan tour company. From random numbers i found on reviews on the app “alltrails” i got quoted 600k for car, 400k for motorcycle. It’s a 30 minute ride from the hostel… I got lucky from asking around the locals if anybody could give me a ride the next day and found one who could take me IN A CAR for 150k. I recommend asking your locals before over paying for some stupid ride! As for returning after your hike, at the bottom of the hike when you walk strait out in front of it, there is a local family who sells water/tea/coffee that all can offer you a ride for a great price. I had a car drive me back for 200k. I did have the option for a bike but i am BURNT. wear sunscreen people ☀️ Either that or you can organize a ride pickup from whoever u decide. That’s just an option that i figured id share! definitely stressed me out. Fees & donations: At the village when you start your walk up the trail (there is a sign by the way! you’ll know.) You can “donate” but i think it’s required of 25k. You’ll sign in on the paper as well. You can rent hiking poles here as well as with the family ^ from up there. i brought my own so i’m not sure how much. There is a 1st post where you can also make a “donation”. i went pretty late in the day considering everybody goes at sunrise, so luckily nobody was there. I’m sure it’s the same price. They also have drinks and snacks here. Trail: After snaking up the first section, you’ll reach post 1. Walking forward you’ll see a big black sign and you’ll follow the arrow right. The trail is very distinct and clear from here all the way up to the top. I saw maximum 15 people the whole way including camps up top! While you’re heaving and taking a break, be prepared for locals carrying a barrel of hay on their shoulder to leave u in the dust! make sure to leave ur pride at home 😔✌️ At the 2nd post, a good opportunity to eat a bit. It was absolutely stunning and the privacy there is amazing. It’s quiet and peaceful, I was alone there. Okay, the hike to the top is CRAZY steep. It’s all gravel and strait up hill. Hiking poles come very in handy for sure at this point (especially while coming down). Many breaks later, i reached the top. It was absolutely stunning. There is an option at this point to keep hiking to Abang mountain. BUT GOD my legs were jello and it was around 11am at this point. I didn’t want to dedicate another 2 hours up this mass of a mountain infront of me just to come alllll the way back down. So either leave earlier or come with a will of 1000 women. Anyways, it was honestly awesome being at the top of this mountain. After about 30 mins everybody from camp left and i got to enjoy it all by myself. It was so astonishing and peaceful to be so accomplished and also enjoy such a breathtaking view by yourself. (yes the trash reviews are real and ppl suck.) Descending wasn’t too hard if you take your time on the deep gravel with ur poles. You will leave extra dusty though. Time: I left at 6, arrived at 7, and arrived at the top at 10:30. Made jt back down by 2. I took my sweet time though. I got a ride back to the hostel and everything turned out! Good luck!
