Watunene Beach
REVIEWS
This is hands down the most beautiful beach I've ever seen! It's incredibly clean and picturesque. There are a few shops and restrooms available, which is convenient. Getting to the beach involves walking down a fairly long set of stairs. The high cliffs provide shade, making it a great spot even during the day. I spent about two hours here, and the drive was smooth on paved roads except for the last kilometer, which was a bit rocky. A suitable motorbike is recommended for that stretch. There were a few small entrance and parking fees, but honestly, the views from both the top and the bottom of the cliffs were worth it! The sand is perfectly white, and the beach is long and wide. Google Maps doesn't have a direct route, so I navigated to Indomaret Tepus Gunungkidul and then followed the walking route, which you can also do by motorbike.

Watunene Beach is a hidden gem! I loved the clean white sand and the dramatic cliffs. The walk down the stairs was a bit tiring, but the view was worth it. I'd recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The water was crystal clear, perfect for swimming. We brought our own snacks, but there were some stalls selling food and drinks too. The road getting there was mostly good, but that last bit was rough, so be prepared if you're driving.

Absolutely stunning! Watunene Beach exceeded my expectations. The scenery is breathtaking, and the beach itself is pristine. It's definitely a bit of an adventure getting there, especially with the rocky road at the end, but that's part of its charm. I felt like I'd discovered a secret paradise. The cliffs provide natural shade, which is a big plus. I can't wait to go back!

Great beach! The sand is so soft and white, and the water is beautiful. It's a bit of a trek to get down to the beach, but the views are amazing. We went during the week, and it wasn't too crowded. I appreciated the clean restrooms and the little shops where we could buy drinks. The road could be better, but overall, it was a fantastic experience.

I visited Watunene and Seruni beaches in one trip! Just a heads-up: if it's the rainy season, the last kilometer of the road can be really slippery because it's a dirt road. The best way to get there is to navigate to "Indomaret Tepus" on your map. Once you arrive, use the walking directions to Watunene Beach. You can even take a motorbike that way. Also, the path down to the beach is quite steep, so be careful, especially if it's wet. The beach itself is super clean because it's still relatively unknown. Small cars like a Jazz, Agya, Ayla, or Brio can make it, but I wouldn't recommend anything bigger.

OTW comes here and gets 2 beaches at the same time. Namely Watunene and Seruni. I wouldn't recommend it if it's the rainy season here because around 1KM of the road has a dirt rock texture. So if it rains it's really slippery... If you want to come here, you can map "Indomaret Tepus", when you arrive. You're using Maps in Watunene using the walking option and then you're off the trail. Oh yes, the terrain to the beach also requires a downhill road, gezz, it's quite steep. It's really wrong when it's rainy season here so it's really slippery The beach is really clean because not many people know about this place. Can a car come here? YES, but only small cars like Jazz, Agya, Ayla, Brio.

The beach is nice, but unfortunately access is still poor and there are minimal directions here. For those who want to come here, you can map to Indomaret Tepus and after that ask local residents. 2x levy The first retribution is sincere The second levy is 10k per person Parking 5k Cars can enter but because access has not been managed properly it is quite difficult

The road to the location is not yet asphalt, some of it has cement blocks, parking is on a hill, to be able to touch the water and sand you have to go down the hill... There is no electricity yet, there are only a few food stalls, there are toilets... you can camp... the beautiful view is serene with a panoramic view of towering cliffs... next to it is Seruni beach...
