Savana Tianyar

REVIEWS

A Alfakilo Azis

Savana Tianyar offers stunning landscapes that are perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility. The vast savanna, framed by Mount Agung in the background, provides plenty of opportunities for photography and relaxation. However, the journey to get there can be a bit challenging as the road is still covered with sand and stones. It is accessible by car or motorbike, but caution is advised, especially during the rainy season. There’s no official admission fee, but a small donation is appreciated at a designated spot along the way. Unfortunately, parts of the area are affected by sand mining, with large trucks and dredging operations visible in some spots, which slightly disrupts the natural beauty. Overall, it's a peaceful getaway for those who appreciate raw, untamed nature, but it would be even better with more efforts to preserve the area.

The path up to the big clearings where you can stop to take pictures is rocky and unpaved, very dusty, and there's trucks carrying sand from quarries occasionally so just make sure you're confident handling your vehicle off road. It's great for photos and just riding around on a motorcycle if you want to feel like you're not quite in Bali. Very arid landscape with Mt Agung as a backdrop more reminiscent of an African savannah.

The road up to Savana Tianyar is not great if you're driving a larger type car from the main road turn off. Mostly dirt. Motor bikes are fine. It was slightly overcast, so not the best on the day we ventured up.

The road to visit this place was a bit tough, but the view was worth it. The horses are wild horse so you need to be careful when you're around. Good time to visit: morning on sunrise. It was a raining when I went there but the view still amazing.
