Sanur Beach

Interesting spot… in a clear day, you will see the volcanic mountain in the distance. There are a few surf board rentals and a bike rental. Beach is clean-ish. Good sunrise spot. First come first serve on the edge of the peer space.

When someone mentions Sanur beach, most likely they mean it as other part of the beach on the same stretch. For me, I would think it means around Icon Bali Mall or Hyatt. It's not wrong, but the reality it there are many beaches along Sanur with different names on the map. To be honest, I have just realized it today standing here that this spot is called Sanur Beach. This is the more crowded area, mostly visited by locals who want to enjoy the ocean, renting the various animal floats or enjoying grilled corn on the beach. If you look for more quiet spot, more sand, less people, try Pantai Pengastian or Bopel. Actually, just walk alongside this stretch of the east of Bali and choose the spot you like with Sanur Harbor as the milestone because after the harbor, the sand changes into black color volcanic sand and finer. Most beaches on Padang Galak and beyond are quiet, but they are not developed as much which can be pro or con depends on how you look at it. Personally, this is not my favorite spots. I prefer quieter ones. It's a bit too happening for me and the stretch of warungs (Indonesian street 'restaurants') don't help much since most are not open/completely open in the morning, especially weekdays. They are also messy looking tents instead of the more rustic newer version that match better with the surroundings. There is a part with waterponding every time it rains with significant depth to wet your shoes, and it's near the good's boarding and unboarding areas.

Beautiful beach. I came here for snorkeling but the waves were too strong and my snorkeling tour was not guided by an instructor. Spent a few minutes on the beach, it was clean enough to go for a swim. I also got a drink . You have to pay for literally everything. Your food, your drink, chairs, pay to use the washroom and pay to wash your legs lol

Has to be one the most beautiful beaches in the world. There is a stone path that is miles long with pristine beaches, dozens of restaurants and markets including a night market. Many walkers, runners and bikers. The beaches are very clean including the public one near the hotels. Very safe and nice walking in the evening and night. Highly recommended although it is half way around the world.
