Whikst dirty , smelly and absolutely hundreds of monkeys our exoerience was inspiring as we had to wear sari and sash for a donation.. but witnessed a full ceremony and saw it is a very active temple used everyday by ordinary people . Friendly people... not friendly monkeys.

Our trip through Bali led us to this temple. I was happy to be able to visit a temple. However what I considered as unfortunate was the cage around the temple site. I understand that the monkeys are there and they really grab everything that is not chained to the wall, however as a visitor it is like visiting a prison. The explanation about the gods by one of the monks was very much appreciated.

Quite a nice temple by the ocean, the place is full of monkeys, and a bit run down. Can watch the sunset from here too.

Small temple. It's nice for a picture but that's it. Leave it to the prayers.

It is a bit more than half an hour walk from our hotel. It was a beautiful mostly flat walk through Pemuteran and along the ocean coast. The temple is a unique building chiseled in the rocks exactly opposite the ocean. You are asked a small donation and given a saro ng to visit the temple.It was such a pity I didn't bring my phone to take photos
