Have you ever been to Tanah Lot Temple? Mengening Beach features Batu Ngaus Temple. It has a different feel with its natural beach stones, corals, simple island structure, and white-brownish sand. Great for sightseeing all day, especially at sunset. Grab some drinks and snacks and enjoy the view.

Mengening Beach is the best black sand beach with the best location and view. It's not too crowded like other beaches.

Mengening Beach has black sand and rocks. My girlfriend and I visited two days in a row last weekend to see the sunset. The beach was pretty clean and not too crowded. We were lucky that both sunsets were clear, and there was a moon in the sky. The only thing I didn't like was that some food stalls played loud music, which ruined the calmness. But they all serve nice snacks and fresh drinks.

I love Mengening Beach! Arrive around 4 PM to get a parking spot. It's accessible by car and motorbike. Many food stalls provide local food at good prices (e.g., coconut for Rp 20,000). You can sit and enjoy the sunset or walk down to the beach.

Mengening Beach has a good view at sunset! Parking and entrance are free. There are toilets, so you can stay longer. It's accessible by car and motorbike, but I recommend a motorbike.

Mengening Beach is a must-visit for its unique beauty, but be prepared for some noise from the food stalls.

Pantai Mengening Intro

Pantai Mengening, nestled in the serene village of Cemagi, Mengwi, Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia, is a secluded black sand beach that offers a unique and tranquil coastal experience. Away from the bustling tourist crowds, Pantai Mengening is a haven for nature lovers, surfers, and those seeking a peaceful escape.

The environment at Pantai Mengening is characterized by its untouched natural beauty. The beach is renowned for its expansive stretch of shimmering black volcanic sand, a distinctive feature that sets it apart from Bali's more common white or golden sand beaches. This unique black sand is a result of the island's volcanic origins. Dramatic cliffs frame the coastline, adding to the dramatic scenery. The powerful waves of the Indian Ocean attract surfers, while the serene atmosphere provides a tranquil space for relaxation and contemplation.

Pantai Mengening is a relatively undeveloped area, which contributes to its unspoiled charm. However, this also means that facilities may be limited. There are no restaurants or shops directly on the beach, so it's advisable to bring your own food, drinks, and other essentials. The lack of crowds and commercialization allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Pantai Mengening is a popular spot for surfing, particularly for experienced surfers. The powerful waves and challenging breaks provide an exhilarating experience. However, due to the strong currents and lack of lifeguards, it's not recommended for beginner surfers. If you're not a surfer, you can still enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing on the beach and taking in the beautiful scenery.

To reach Pantai Mengening, you can travel by car or motorbike from other areas in Bali. The journey will take you through scenic countryside and traditional Balinese villages, offering a glimpse into the local way of life. Once you arrive in the Cemagi area, you can easily find directions to Pantai Mengening.

Here are some additional tips for visiting Pantai Mengening:

  • The best time to visit is during the dry season (April to October) for optimal weather conditions.
  • Bring your own food, drinks, and other essentials, as there are no facilities on the beach.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for outdoor activities.
  • If you plan to surf, bring your own surfboard or rent one from nearby surf shops.
  • Be mindful of the currents and waves, and avoid swimming if you're not a confident swimmer.
  • Respect the natural environment and leave no trace behind.

Pantai Mengening is a true hidden paradise in Bali, offering a unique and unforgettable beach experience. Whether you're seeking a peaceful escape, a surfing adventure, or simply a moment to connect with nature, Pantai Mengening is sure to captivate your senses and leave you with lasting memories.
