Gamat Bay

I have been to Bali many times. The last time I was there was 2 years ago - (was one of my favourite spot to go on the island) cos the beach was very quiet, barely anyone there, only a small hut restaurant with lots of dogs and a few bean bags, it was lovely, as I don’t like crowded spaces. Can also snorkel from the beach…. This time I came back in 2025… wow it’s changed massively, they are building up resorts right on the beach… :( sad because I won’t be coming here again next time as it will be packed and crowded with people as the beach isn’t very big

- I entered at the right side of the beach (if you look to the sea) - it was high tide - Waves where high (around 1,8 meter) - I used swimming fins & I am a good swimmer - the current was pulling me strongly to the left side of the beach - Going in and out was tricky cause of the waves (water entering the snorkel) - I felt safe and the experience is simply gigantic. There are great corals, colorful fish’s and turtles. - it definitely can be dangerous!! Ask the locals if you are not sure. Pleased try to not stand on the corals. They are starting very fast when you go into the water!

An incredible snorkeling spot! The beach is not crowded, even though snorkelling tour boats frequently visit. It's wise to bring water shoes, as walking can be challenging due to the rocks.

Driving there was pretty tricky, some parts of the road were really muddy and under water. Tho I don't think it's a problem when there hasn't been rain. Really quiet, went when there was high tide and waves were too big to snorkel. Otherwise a nice, little spot.

Very nice beach! Not to busy. There is a warung with very friendly people who run it. You can rent sunbeds there, yes they cost money, but those kind of things costs money in other places as well (in Spain at least 2-3 times more expensive). Nice to snorkel there, you have to get past a stretch of coral and rocks first, so wear something on your feet as protection. Enjoy the fishes! To get there you have to follow a rather bad road, steep down and up when you’re leaving, but manageable with a scooter. From the scooterparking it’s a five minute walk down by a narrow track though the jungle. Enjoy your stay at Gamat Bay😎
