The most beautiful viewpoint!! Feels like you’re on top of the world. 10/10 spot with almost no tourists. We basically had the whole place to ourselves and got to see some manta rays from the top. Highly recommend for someone wanting views without having to pay or beat the tourists

Stunning scenery of rocks, blue water and if you are lucky you will see Manta. We saw one manta and many turtles. The road to it is completely ok and unlike some other attractions in the island it's free.

Defiently a cool place to visit, you can't really descent down to the beach, so it's a viewpoint only. But that's compensated by the lack of annoying tourists taking the same picture all over the place. There's a temple a one small stall with all the basic stuff you might need to buy (including petrol!). Access is by a pretty good paved road, there was no issue getting there on a motorbike; car is probably possible as well however bike is so much more easier.

This area for snorkeling is the only place around Nusa Penida where you can snorkel or dive with an 80% chance or better of seeing the really beautiful and unique reef manta rays! It is also really picturesque and beautiful, with clear blue waters. The mantas tend to frequent this area as a “cleaning station.” We went early in the morning, leaving the harbor at about 8 AM and arriving at Manta Point around 9 AM. The ocean was fairly smooth the day of our trip, but the long boat ride was still a bit bumpy. We had private guides and a private tour.(which I would highly recommend because they will allow you to stay longer and you will have a better chance of seeing the mantas) Once we arrived, we heard that there was one manta ray in the water which we swam over to and hung out with as he/she was getting cleaned by all the little colorful fish. Soon, two more mantas showed up and were circling around us, then another one (all black, which I have never seen before and is fairly rare to see) showed up and started circling, too! They are curious animals, and were not bothered by swimming directly below us, so close that we could almost touch them! Definitely put this trip on your agenda for Nusa Penida. Also,’if you go to both Manta Bay and Manta Point , you will increase your chances of an encounter. We paid about $165 US for a 4 hour private snorkeling trip for two people (arranged through our hotel) which seems to be the going rate. Group tours may be a little cheaper, but they will limit your time at each stopping point and dealing with many people having to get geared up all at once to get into the water will also limit your time to snorkel. The private trip was definitely the best choice.

This was the best viewing spot we visited by far on Nusa Penida ! It is a bit off track, which also means it's very calm, we were the only ones there when we arrived, were eventually 4/5 scooters... Straight away we saw Manta's, about 10 in all, turtles, and a pod of maybe 15 dolphins ! So a worthwhile visit I would say ! As for the "stairway to heaven" which descends, I'm not sure it's possible to use anymore, the first steps are more like a ladder than a stairs and a few meters further the wooden passway seems to drop off the cliff, would not recommend even having a look down there ! No fees here
